Caroline Dessent

Biography
Caroline Dessent studied 海角社区 at Jesus College, Oxford and completed her PhD with Mark Johnson at Yale University in the USA. She subsequently held a Royal Society University Research Fellowship and an ERC Starting Independent Research Fellowship. She is now a Professor of Physical and Analytical 海角社区 in the Department of 海角社区 at York. Caroline鈥檚 research group engages in experimental and theoretical research, and have a wide range of areas of study including photochemistry, spectroscopy, analytical chemistry, on-line reaction monitoring and environmental chemistry, all using laser-interfaced mass spectrometry methods.
She has been an elected member of the Faraday Community Council, as well as the Chair of the RSC Spectroscopy and Dynamics special interest group. Caroline is a passionate advocate of Diversity and Inclusion in science, and works on projects to improve the career progression of individuals who are currently underrepresented in the chemistry community.
