George Jackson
Winner 2025: for his outstanding work in the field of statistical mechanics and thermodynamics
Professor George Jackson has been award the 2025 Lennard-Jones award for his outstanding work in the field of statistical mechanics and thermodynamics.

His innovative work on Statistical Associating Fluid Theory (SAFT) has led, with his collaborators, to an extremely accurate methodology for predicting the phase behaviour and thermodynamics properties of complex fluid mixtures. This methodology is now used by academics and industrial chemical engineers across the world. Besides this, his research has had a major impact on our understanding of the liquid vapour interface and the properties of liquid crystals.
