It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the winner of the 2025 RSC Fluorine Prize is . The RSC Fluorine Prize is awarded to a young researcher who has made a significant contribution to the area of fluorine chemistry and is chosen by an international panel of fluorine chemists. Prof. Shen鈥檚 research interests include photocatalysis, application of fluoroalkylacylsilanes in synthesis and novel synthetic methods for the generation of C-F bonds. To date he has published >60 publications with recent reports spanning to . Prof. Shen conducted his PhD studies with Prof. Jinbo Hu at the Shanghai Institute of Organic 海角社区 (SIOC) followed by a stay as a research associate at the same institute. He then moved to conduct postdoctoral studies firstly with Prof. Tobias Ritter at Harvard University and then Prof. Amir Hoveyda at Boston College. In 2017 Prof. Shen was appointed at Wuhan University where he is a Professor in the Institute for Advanced Studies.
