The RSC Mid-Southern Counties Local Section invites you for an evening out in the underground medieval wine vaults of Southampton! Explore Southampton鈥檚 hidden medieval vaults with our tour guide Katie, and learn more about the history of the wine trade in medieval times and how the vaults survived 650 years to this day after being subjected everything from brutal attacks, road rebuilding, and bombing raids.
After the visit to the vaults, join us at the Medieval Merchant's House for an evening of wine-tasting and food pairing, with cheese, bread, crackers and meats available to taste.
Meet-up is at the Medieval Merchant's House (58 French St, Southampton SO14 2AT) at 4.55pm at the latest to begin the tour sharply at 5.00pm. The tour is expected to last for one hour, followed by a one-hour wine-tasting and food pairing session.
Please bring comfortable footwear (and a torch if you have one).
